Summer Is Here!
Leo Solis, Outgoing EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, RIO HONDO COLLEGE
What does your Chapter have planned for the summer? Nothing you say? Well, here are some activities that can help your chapter stay active:
- Start planning activities for the fall.
- Come up with some short-term goals that your chapter may want to accomplish by the end of fall or spring semester/quarter.
- Set-up recruitment tables (freshman orientation, transfer days, etc).
- Have an ice cream social to inform new members and invite a SCTA Executive Board member.
Don’t have a Chapter on your campus? What are you waiting for? Check out our website at www.cta.org/scta and click on Chapter Leaders. There you will find tools and resources to start a chapter on your campus. Don’t feel overwhelmed! Our SCTA Organizer and support staff can always lend a helping hand and assist your new chapter.
Once you’ve had a successful event, share the news by contacting the SCTA Communications Editor, Cynthia Gutierrez, cindy_gutie@yahoo.com, for inclusion in the I Choose to Teach! newsletter. Please submit photos as well. Contact your SCTA Executive Board members with any questions or requests for visitations to your campus. |
