It seems as if it was only yesterday that I sat at my tiny desk reviewing the semester syllabus with thousands of thoughts running through my mind - which assignments would be the major priorities or would the professor be difficult? Not to mention who would I meet in the quad, study groups, parties, socials, meetings, visitations, community service projects, work, spending quality time with family and friends, concerts, road trips, papers, research, discussion groups, homework, conferences...an endless list.
How was I going to make time to do everything I wanted? This was only the beginning of the semester-and now I send season's greetings!
Who would have ever thought that the fall semester would have gone by so fast. I must confess time really does fly when you're having fun. Chapter meetings, planning sessions, bake sales, raffles, guest speakers, ice cream socials and conferences. I hope that you have enjoyed the semester as much as I did.
This has been a tremendous semester! I know each of us have lived our individual experiences, and I hope that we take time to remember all that has taken place, and reflect on the positive as well as the negative.
Constantly remind yourself that everything happens for a reason, whether we realize it or not. Take time to reflect on the entire semester and begin to plan for your next journey-spring semester.
This has been a very exciting and yet traumatic semester. And each new day has brought with it new hope and promises for the future. As Norman Vincent Peale once said "Start each day by affirming peaceful, contented and happy attitudes and your day will tend to be pleasant and peaceful." Continue to excel in all you do! Good luck with finals and remember to have a safe and happy winter break.
