SCTA Newsletter
It's a Sure Bet, Enroll on the Net!
Rhonda Lewis, SCTA Ethnic Minority Representative, National Hispanic University
It's official! The National Education Association-Student Program (NEA-SP) membership enrollment will soon be available online. On August 25, 2003, NEA-SP will unveil its new web-enabled student enrollment, which will allow students to join SCTA via the Internet using either their debit or credit card.
There is a significant demand from students to have an easy and efficient way of joining their state associations and the NEA-SP has fulfilled this need. The web-enabled student enrollment not only offers a streamlined enrollment process, but also establishes an electronic relationship between both associations at the national and state level.
There are two easy ways to sign up. Students can go to http://www.nea.org/ or http://www.owl.org/. Once on the enrollment page, simply indicate your state affiliation (SCTA = CA). Enter the requested information and select your form of payment. Voila! Enrollment is complete. You will receive a confirmation message, and your information will be fed directly into the CTA database and SCTA office.
By registering online, you will have faster access to NEA-SP/SCTA benefits including the $1 million professional liability insurance, subscriptions to NEA Today, Tomorrow's Teacher and the California Educator magazines. As an additional incentive, you will receive a free one-year subscription to the Instructor magazine and a copy of the new member CD-Rom, Wisdom on Demand. Give the new web-enabled student enrollment process a try and obtain benefits sooner than before! |
