Silicon Valley Girls Coalition
In October 2002, a groundbreaking and historical gathering of 1000 girls will kick off a local, national, and international movement. The girls of Silicon Valley will gather to initiate and lead a ripple effect of change within themselves, their communities, and the world. It will be the first phase of a three-year project, culminating in the power of 5,000 girls, which will put Silicon Valley's focus on GIRLS FOR A CHANGE.
To address the lack of support for and representation of young women leaders, the Silicon Valley Girls Coalition developed and launched Girls For A Change (GFC). Girls For A Change is catalyzing 1000 women to support 5000 girls in designing, creating, funding and implementing their own social change projects. Girls For A Change is committed to promoting girls innovative nature and entrepreneurial spirit. During the program girls will have access to a wide range of services including: a network of professional women role models, two dynamic conferences, ongoing leadership and self awareness trainings, an interactive cyber network, corporate, non-profit and political partners and long term alumni network.
Girls For A Change is currently seeking adults to volunteer for this groundbreaking project.
