The SCTA newsletter has come a long way since I started as Communications Editor six months ago. Beginning with this issue, we now have regularly featured sections in which SCTA officers and members can contribute. These sections include the Political Corner where you will receive updates about issues affecting the quality of teaching and learning in California and the Diversity Corner, which updates members on the topic of diversity, and the CCTC Liaison Banner which updates members on teacher credential requirements and many other interesting issues.

I hope that as an SCTA member, you benefit from the SCTA as much as I have. You have the opportunity to meet other students interested in teaching, teachers who will inform you about the issues they face in and out of the classroom, and learn many things from the various conferences offered throughout the year. Finally, feel free to contact me if you would like to submit an article for the SCTA newsletter.
