Why Join CTA
Media Relations
CTA's media specialists work with the print media, radio and television to keep them informed about CTA's position on the major issues.
Annual Advertising Campaign
CTA also funds a $2 million statewide advertising campaign each year aimed at telling the public about educational issues and the essential service that teachers provide to California's young people and the public. The campaign focuses on the accomplishments, the needs and problems of public education. Initiated in 1986, the campaign continues to increase public awareness not only about such problems as overcrowded classrooms, dropouts, and the overburdened community college and state university systems, but also about the good things happening in the public schools.
Confidence Building
CTA utilizes paid ads, news releases and other means to keep success stories before the public. Public confidence and support are vital to the survival of public education.
Reaching the Public
CTA realizes that without public support of the schools, teachers and other school personnel cannot have the resources they need to do their jobs. Therefore, informing the public of the needs and the successes of our schools is a high priority in the CTA program.
