With personnel in Burlingame, Foster City, Citrus Heights and Norco, the IPD Department works with leaders, teachers and staff to advance CTA's agenda to help improve schools. Resources, training and technical assistance available from the department include resources for members and staff on educational issues for bargaining, lobbying and communications; training for members on educational issues at Regional, Service Center, and Chapter conferences; in-depth research and publications on important educational issues; technical assistance to chapters on school improvement, generally, and the education of English learners and special education children, in particular; and statewide education conferences for teachers and teacher leaders (e.g. Schools of Greatest Need Training, Good Teaching Conferences, Improving Schools track of the Summer Institute).
