When necessary, the California Teachers Association will launch local and statewide advertising campaigns in support of its nearly 335,000 members and the critical issues facing public education.

In the past, CTA has used television, newspaper and radio ads to successfully fight for teachers and students. Campaigns in past years helped win class size reduction legislation and succeeded in killing a state voucher measure.

Last year, CTA launched a million-dollar, statewide radio campaign to give teachers a powerful voice in the debate about education.

Teachers and CTA officers also speak in ads on such urgent issues as crumbling schools, the need to test what's being taught, overcrowding and poor state funding.

In addition, CTA helped the Fresno Teachers Association recently launch a series of prime-time television and radio ads that helped teachers in the state's fourth-largest school district win significant salary increases.
