Position:  Production Consultant - Training, Information and Development
Location:  Burlingame (1705 Murchison Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010)
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates special projects at the direction of the Associate Executive Director for Training Information and Development.
  • Acts as a liaison between consultants for the CTA Media Fund and CTA members, leaders, members and staff.
  • Verifies information and coordinates educational research support for the CTA Media Fund.
  • Acts as a liaison to CTA legal counsel on matters involving the CTA Media Fund.
  • Assists in the development of appropriate messages and content for productions of the CTA Media Fund.
  • Coordinates CTA Media Fund activities with the overall CTA communications program.
  • Examines Media Fund projects for appropriateness with CTA policy and the CTA organizational image.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of an organizing plan in support of the CTA Media Fund.
  • Develops written materials and communications in support of CTA programs.
  • Writes and produces videos to support CTA programs, CTA website and CTA political campaigns.
  • Assists in the development of communications with members and external audiences.
  • Assists in the development of collateral materials in support of the media relations program.
  • Works on special projects in the area of communications and media relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA or higher degree.
  • Appropriate educational background including corresponding work experience in public schools.
  • Experience with and understanding of professional education organization programs and services at local, state and national levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in working with professional groups, state agencies and local educational organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate orally in a clear and effective manner.
  • Experience with technology including the use of CTA computer applications and multimedia software.
  • Knowledge and experience with public opinion research.
  • Experience in video production.
  • Knowledge and experience working with CTA programs at the local and state level.
  • Experience and commitment to team approaches and willingness to share responsibility.
  • Broad understanding of the critical issues and problems facing the public schools and the education profession in California.
  • Valid California Drivers License.

*This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CSO. Salaries are established by a collective bargaining agreement.  Step placement is also determined by the CTA/CSO Agreement.
