Position: Temporary Secretary III - Community Outreach
Location: Burlingame (1705 Murchison Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Composes and prepares routine correspondence.
Prepares and edits reports and correspondence for style and correct English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Prepares correspondence and other materials from drafts and notes.
Answers telephones and responds to inquiries as appropriate.
Assists in identifying, developing and reporting information from files and other resource documents.
Compiles and reports information from records, documents, etc.
Schedules appointments and maintains calendar for persons to whom assigned.
Coordinates itinerary and makes travel arrangements for persons to whom assigned.
Arranges meetings and conferences, prepares materials for duplication, and performs other logistics for persons to whom assigned.
Plans, coordinates and follows through on large complex logistical projects assigned on a continuing basis.
Establishes and maintains files and records.
Operates generally used office equipment including word processing equipment.
Performs logistical functions as assigned for conferences coordinated by the department.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
AA Degree.
Or, three (3) years of relevant experience.
Ability to learn and communicate CTA structure, policies, procedures, programs and services.
Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow through on work assignments with little supervision.
Ability to operate generally used office machines.
Proficiency in the use of computer technology, and ability to learn and use the Association's software programs.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changes in priorities.
Ability to work well under considerable pressure, respond to emergencies, and solve routine office problems independently.
Demonstrated ability to exercise planning and coordinating, and to follow through on large, complex logistical projects.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
* This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CAS. Salaries are established by a collective bargaining agreement. Step placement is also determined by the CTA/CAS Agreement.
