: Overview

The Business Services Department (BSD) was organized September 1, 2004 with staff from two different departments - ISSD and Office Services. BSD objectives are
  1. provide a centralized organizational purchasing function. The department works closely with other departments to determine capital needs as well as working to secure favorable pricing and terms on a variety of goods and services acquired by the Association.
  2. Provide direct support to business application system initiatives. BSD works closely with other departments in the Business Division regarding application software selection, implementation as well as enhancements and upgrades to current business systems and processes.
  3. Identify and develop key strategic vendor relationships. BSD works with CTA's suppliers in an effort to deliver a high level of value and service for the Association at the right price. Additionally, BSD will be working closely with the Accounting Department and Controller's Office to ensure proper controls and procedures are in place for certain business and financial transactions.
