Announcer: The new school year is a good time to remember that it takes commitment from all of us - especially families and teachers - to help kids achieve their dreams. Here's what parents and kids have to say.
Parent: You definitely need to have a team; it has to be the family, the student and the teacher.
Student: I have a really good teacher.
Parent: All the teachers want is a willing student so that they can do what they love to do, which is to teach.
Parent: Their job is one of the most important jobs in the whole world.
Parent: Equally as important to the police or fire...it saves our lives but in a different way.
Parent: They are the ones our children will remember.
Student: It makes me feel special and glad that I have a teacher like that.
Parent: Thank you...because my two daughters have had the most wonderful teachers.
Student: When I grow up I'd like to be an architect.
Student: I want to be in the Navy.
Student: ... a marine biologist.
Student: ... a radio personality.
Student: ... professional baseball player (laughs).
Student: I want to be a teacher.
Announcer: For tips on how to help your child succeed in school, ask a teacher. This back to school reminder was brought to you by the California Teachers Association. Because every child deserves a chance to learn and no child succeeds alone.
